These are all general suggestions, always check with the organization for their specific requirements on gear or motorcycle setup. The more you do before you get to the track the less you will have to do at the track.

Gear:
- One or two piece suit. Usually a zipper that zips more then 50% around is good enough on two piece suits.
- A full face helmet undamaged with a face shield. Helmet must be BSI, DOT or SNELL approved(it usually has this branded on the back of the helmet).
- Gauntlet style gloves that completely cover wrists.
- Boots that cover your ankles. Work boots usually will work as long as they come up above your ankle.

Bike setup:
- Look over you bike completely looking for loose bolts and signs of wear. Also washing your bike will let the tech people know you take care of your bike and will get you thru quicker.
- Tape over all your lights with masking tape and pull either the bulbs or fuses. Mirrors will also need to be tape or removed.
- Tires are very important and should have more then 75% of tread left on them and not be discolored or dry rotted. All valve stems need caps on them and wheel weights need to be taped over.
- Radiator needs to be drained and filled with either water or wetter water. Some organizations will let beginners run with antifreeze but check ahead of time because they will fine you if you dump anitfreeze on the track.
- Check your brake pads to make sure they aren't over worn and that the levels feel good and firm. If you need to bleed some new fluid into your system.
Things to bring:
- Tools, sometimes you will need more then just the little tool kit that comes with your bike.
- 5 Gallon container full of fuel. The gas at track ,if they sell it, will be expensive and a 5 gallon container with a full tank is usually more then enough for one track day.
- A tire pressure gauge is important along with a small air pump. You can normally find people at the track that will help you find the correct PSI for your tires.
- Bring something to shade yourself from the sun like an ez-up canopy and some camping chairs to sit in.
- You will need to bring more fluids then you think. Bring water, gaterade and other sports drinks, try and stay away from "energy drinks" because they will not help you out on the track.
- Easy and fast to eat food is a must. You don't always feel like grilling in the heat after riding a few track sessions.
